A single comment on Facebook sparked this poem. One I'm quite fond of.
My lonely thoughts are my only friend
They do not fear nor rip or bend
They stand through time and harsh objectives
My lonely thoughts are my only friend

They've mastered killing your happy trend
No smiles can stand the pain they stand
Your fun, to them is only subjective
My lonely thoughts are my only friend

Through them, I stand forever alone
No matter the cheery feeling honed
A peaceful island in a sea of misery
Through them, I stand forever alone

Medusa eye, my heart's turned stone
My tear stained face, once was so lively
Through them, I stand forever alone

Though the hurt is plentiful
And life's pleasure few

I know, that even in this drought
A leaf is filled with morning dew

To quench the thirst so thoroughly
The thirst of feeling spent

Though the pleasure will be plentiful
And life's pain be few
I'll remember this is borrowed joy
That fate so rarely rents
