Everyone has an opinion on capital punishment whether they realize it or not.
Fate can take a lifetime
fear will grasp the grieving
intellection left behind
afforded all to reason

Contempt confined in quiet
counseled by the wicked
testified defiance
shrouding sins committed

Summoning the serpent
dark descends the moment
vindicating ruin
pure with empty notions

Pleading searches mercy
hope alludes to failure
integrity returning
questions go unanswered

Clean hands of the faceless
stained with pride and anger
incriminated blameless
departing to the wayward

In echoes of the silence
the hidden start to rise
peculiar isolation
and the nameless walk on by

Cursed by mindless judgment
souls cry out asylum
inheriting injustice
with the weak none the wiser

Resigned to fear the darkness
conviction on their faces
unfamiliar compromise
eternity in waiting
