My disillusionment with romance thanks to users and abusers. I'm now celibate.
The heart beats firm ‘gainst ribs of pearl
Mist, ‘bout milky flanks doth swirl
Mane, lustrous through air doth furl
As the Unicorn canters his way

Dandelion and brush of heather
All bow down and welcome his feather
There is none but clement weather
As the unicorn canters his way

Rowan tree and Oaken bower
Lily, Rose, and Jonquil flower
All the fauna as does the flora,
Honour the unicorn on his way

Down the path that leads to clover
He spy’s a young and maiden rover
Beckoned by hand he’s welcomed over
As the unicorn is drawn from his way

“Lay down your cheek upon my hair,
As round my lap I lay it there”,
Pleads the lass with earnest air
Of the unicorn, come her way.

There he dies as round his throat
A blade of steel doth cruel garrotte
And round the lass blood forms a moat
From the unicorn who did stray
