This is a poem depicting what happens when we lose our emotions but not our desires.
I find myself walking slowly. Back hunched and eyes gazing at the ground.
Within me there is nothing.
My soul has become empty. Torn apart.
There is no happiness.
No anger.
No sadness.
No fear.
No love.
My beating heart has become a hollow container.

Some have tried to pry me open. To make me happy like I once was.
Nay, that cannot be done.
I have died while I am alive.

When the reaper comes to me,
I hope he doesn't take me to heaven.
Or hell.
Nor do I wish to be reincarnated.

Perhaps, instead
He can send me to the void.
Where I can drift for all eternity with no one to bother me.
Maybe he could even give me pillow to sleep with.
Yes, that is all I want
My one true desire.
