After they're gone thier absence can take up more space than thier presence.
Their voice shrouded and overshadowed
by their silence,
the future fears no one,
and the past forgives only remembrance,
familiar with pain and traditional anguish,
experiencing lament in agonizing breaths,
taken in haste,
taken in remiss,
missing are the sleepers who wake to dreams
taking mysteries of the heart,
spaces where life's moments spring
and the dreamer departs,
now only memories remain
hollow and bare,
souls stretched towards the everlasting,
hands suspended in prayer,
where once a brilliant light shone
now merely shadow,
where once was mingling laughter
now only silence,
their presence crowded and overwhelmed
by their absence,
