Temptation

"Looking back on it, I'm surprised we arrived down that particular avenue, given all the hollering and flycatching that went on; but we did and we raised the money, and all credit must go to Mr Bubb for coming up with such a Hail Mary solution. Or as Mr Bubb said, it was a 'Hail Mary-Jane' solution. You see Officer, Hail Mary-Jane? As in Marijuana? Grass? You see the joke Officer?"

"Ms Blanket, you and your fellow members of the Church Board, your Pastors and several members of the congregation are all facing Federal charges relating to the trafficking, supply and sale of illegal Narcotics. This is not a joking matter Ms Blanket."

"Oh Officer, I don't really think it's as serious as all that- we were simply fundraising so we could rebuild the Church after the fire. It may be a little outside of the box, but as Mr Bubb said to us at the time, the Lord moves in mysterious ways, and he will surely protect us whilst we are performing his good works. Such a joyous and religious man, was Mr Bubb, he would always chuckle when talking of Our Saviour."

"The Church fire you mention...?"

"Well I don't suppose the FBI would have heard of it, but yes, the big fire back in April. Actually Mr Bubb was first on the scene, but sadly he had lost his cellphone and so couldn't call 911. Such a shame, perhaps an early response may have saved the Church from burning down. "

"Just to be clear, this Mr Bubb you mention, is that the same person you previously identified as Bill Leslie Bubb?"

"Oh yes. I'm sure he'll drop by soon enough to clear all this up, he always seems to make himself available during troubled times."
