Saturday morning
sitting outside
Silence profound
for a city.

I can hear the clawing
of something in the cedar tree.
A squirrel
foraging.

Silence broken
by my frisky dogs.
Barking delightedly
at the squirrel in the tree.

Saturday morning
waking up the neighbours
with my alarm dogs
