Autumn brings changing ways
shadows long from shorter days
weighted choices shared and made
not to leave all to chance
nor deliberate circumstance

Autumn brings changing scenes
like colors on the falling leaves
marigolds and reds from greens
portrayed across the heaven's blue
where summer's bloom will be renewed

Autumn brings changing hearts
where summer ends and winter starts
death gives rise as life departs
a seeming path spread along
remaining, fleeting; there then gone

Autumn brings changing cries
when summer gives its own good-byes
and bids farewell when snow arrives
to drift from warmth to bitter cold
