Every one in a while the darkness comes ,
It finds its hole,
It lies deep within you immortal soul,
Once in there its free to roam,
It is looking to set up home.
You cannot allow it to hold your heart,
You don’t know it but you have that power from the start,
That is the last refuge it can take,
Once you decide to drive that stake,
Right through its center of its chest,
You better drive it hard, and true, that’s best.
Once it leaves you better know,
To get it out and keep it out is a chore,
But once you do close the door to the out side so nothing can get in.
Or in this case get out,
You see, because once it gets in there is no getting it out, it will hide within you while you jump for joy and shout,
Then slowly poke its head back out.
So you think you’ve won?
And the darkness has gone,
Think again weary traveler,
This journey has just begun.
