who will greet tomorrow?
The sun, the moon
And all the wonders in the world
Are nothing, mean nothing,
Worth nothing
If all this continues
Sun can shine,
We can pretend all is fine
When tomorrow arrives
Who will be there to greet it?
Will it come in alone,
Shaking and seeking shelter
From the bitter cold?
Who will hand it a hot drink,
A biscuit and a blanket?
It needs to be soothed,
Nurtured and calmed
Someone needs to greet tomorrow
Let them not break it with hate
Or blind it with prejudice
It doesn't need a sappy song
A silent respect will do
Please let someone be there
To bring it home.
