a self-reflection
"This Gypsy Gal"

This gypsy gal,
dances to the beat of road music,
honoring the heart of pathways
and the spirit of footpaths
leading home.

This gypsy gal,
bows in thanksgiving
to towering tree stands and leaf sounds
within familiar and fairy-lived forests;
carries a river stone, and admires
tiny pebbles in meandering creek beds;
takes rest in colorful fields and meadows,
under bluffs and craggy cliffs.

This gypsy gal,
alone in search for ancestral tribal names
bound to be reunited and rejoice
in the homecoming.
Along the way, found comfort in
Sun's warm embrace, Moon's lighted lamp,
and North Star's guiding way.

This gypsy gal,
journeying home;
considers short and tall blades of grass,
flower petals, and waves of grain;
partakes refreshment from rich berries
and drinks from cool streams
teeming with nourishment;
writes lyrics to tunes of chatter and chirps
nearby, and far off echoes of barks, growls,
and haunting howls.

This gypsy gal
sings a song of solace,
and dances to the beat of road music;
discovers wherever I am,
I am already home.
