Whatever your life may be, make sure its colourful
Spectrum

Rainbows on horizons
Bending round the turns
Chicanes twist tight like lightning
Striking as it burns

With pots of gold earned slowly
Piecemeal, day by day
With finish lines served lowly,
and restarts all the way

On the way to greater things
With objects never grasped
Silver coins and golden rings
The joys lie in the tasks

So menial, so plain, routine
So vital in the scheme
What marks a magnum opus, clean,
… its parts, its starts... its dreams

Dreams of vibrant colour arched
Ecstatic vivid bright
Blended wet with others parched
A duller, muted blight

A contrast to make sense of things
Find reasons in the rhymes
To forge your own hymn sheet and sing
The tale of your times

Working through a spectrum lit
A green youth aged to grey
I pray your rainbows never quit
… full colour all the way
