A hint at what roles they take and how they survive
An average routine normally called for a padded room or a dungeon, and if your days didn't have those two things, you'd never enjoyed the flesh of your own kin before. Hysteria pitied those people...the taste alone was probably enough to get her off. She wasn't sure if it was the animalistic side of her or just the powerplay, but it filled more than one need and that was all she cared about.

Now, however, she cared for little more than the comfort of the branch she sat in. The warmth of sunlight sunk into the young hybrid's fur, making every slight stretch or yawn that much more enjoyable. Of course, she couldn't move too much or else she might fall - but it was nice to just let her tail hang and daydream for a bit. Away from that uptight doctor and her crying victims - both of which gave her a headache.

The scaled feline was just baring her fangs to yawn when the sound of growling spooked her, claws out and digging into the bark as if it would somehow save her life. The chuckling that followed put a sour expression on her face. "What do you want now?"

The shadow, who'd been hovering just out of her peripherals switched into view with a puff of smoke...though upside down. The foxy devil made quick work of adjusting the feline's hair as he spoke, "Nothing just wanted to check on my little pet."

"Right," Hys pulled away abruptly, careful to keep her balance with her thighs. The being himself had been around her for as long as she could remember, and unlike herself, he still bore his memories. He knew her...and more importantly, the girl who lurked inside. "You just want to see her again. Quit with the gentlemen act already."

"I'm sorry," the shadow spoke, floating down onto the branch as if he could actually sit on it. If this were her world, she'd make it dissapear so he'd fall. The tree was quite high up...perhaps if she- "But it's no act."

oh right, he was saying something.

"You know full well that if you aren't nice to me she gets sad, it's an act. So fuck you." The fox stayed silent, and without a face, she couldn't tell how he felt about her choice of words. The silence in and of itself was maddening though so she made an attempt to fill it. "How long do you want her?"

"Forever."

Hysteria laid her ears back, she could feel the headache coming already. The shadow itself vibrated, and she couldn't tell whether it was laughter or just subconcious movement. She hissed at it with disdain. "Give me a time, ingrate!"

The fox tilted half of it's body in what she could only assume was an act of thought. She lifted her tail to keep him from touching it, the nerve of that creature even subconciously doing so would be revolting. Far too much so to think about for long, she already looked as if she'd throw up at the very idea of-

"Three months."

"That's...a long time." Hysteria moved her tail to hug it now, needing to squeeze something other than his throat. Why would he ask for three months? He knew how they survived far better than she did, was he just being greedy or did he need the girl for a specific purpose? Did it have to do with the way his body was forming or...?

"Her presence may keep you..." The fox paused, noticing the glare she was sending. "Occupied...but for me, it's clearly much more physical." Hys nearly snickered at that part, knowing just how physical it got for them. She was smart enough not to say anything though. Each of them had their roles to fulfill after all. The fox sighed, possibly reading her mind. Poor guy. "Will you give her to me?"

"...fiiiine." She muttered something about wanting a corn dog before jumping from the large oak, landing quietly on the ground as if it were made of cushion instead of raw earth and pine needles. She then raised a clawed fist and shoved it into an invisible pocket hole...there was the faintest whisper of a scream before a small brown headed child was ripped out and tossed roughly aside. Luckily, the shadow caught her before any further harm was done.

"Can't you be more gentle about it!?" The monster curled his shadowed arms around the frightened child while he tried - hard, - not to yell too loud. The girl was already sniffling into him, and he could feel the wetness of her eyes. "She's just a kid!"

"Oh and you're gentle?" The feline mocked, swishing her tail and raising it to appear much more dominant than she actually was. This fox had no respect whatsoever, and she wasn't going to waste more of her time trying to get it out of him. He had what he wanted now. In fact, he probably got two things he wanted. "Just don't let her destroy a damn city again and we're even...keep a leash on the little bitch will ya?"

The fox let out a low growl, his features becoming more visible. The black length of his muzzle and the deep brown of his eyes, the gloss of his fur stuck out through the girl's tiny fingers and to anyone other than Hysteria his height and muscle alone would have been intimidating. To Hys, he was just a shadow.

"I'll be keepin' peace while you two fuck or whatever..." Hys glared at the ripped up hole before her before gingerly placing one foot in. Her expression was pained, but physically she seemed fine. The fox wondered why it was she hated being in there so much, but before he got the chance to ask she gave a wave and was gone...along with the hole she stepped through. He whispered a silent thank you as he held the girl close to him, whole at last.
