a short poem about coming to the end of your dance...
Slow Dancing

One of these times.
You’ll be slow dancing.
You won’t be dancing alone.
The moves won’t be your own.

Time is going to slow you down.
All the shadows will keep you company.
The good and the bad ones.
The shared, the lone, and the sad ones.

They’ll hold you in their arms so tight.
The arms that opened wide.
The ones that loved you most of all.
Embrace and hold you close and tall.

This time you won’t squirm and say.
Won’t turn aghast and waltz away.
You’ll dance the night, sashay.
You’ll dance away the days.
