Poem I wrote at work
Throbbing, stabbing pain
Face slammed in a door
But these are feelings
I've felt many times before

Why does it ache?
Why does it burn?
How many times
These lessons I must learn

I wish I had
A heart of stone
Then I wouldn't care
When I feel alone

Nowhere to run
Nowhere to hide
I cannot escape
The pain inside
