Memories of the past. Female fawns stay with mothers for a while. The song is real.
Reminiscence

My grandmother and I were great friends.
We had the best fun doing the simplest things.
We’d get up early and make pancakes.
She would sing “Five Little Monkeys” as she cooked our breakfast.
I would put out food for her very old dog Sophie.
We enjoyed the open-air, so we bundled up to walk outside.
Our favorite path was around the Great Owl Lake nearby.
We’d wander down the path that she and Gramps loved to take.
Leaves were changing colors and looked ready to fall.
“Pretty soon, Jack Frost will be visiting us.” she would whisper.
Sophie stopped ahead of us which meant that she saw something.
A pretty big-eyed doe and her fawn stood still as we slowly walked by.
We also saw animals getting ready to take their long sleep.
Finally, we came back to our cabin that looked like a Normal Rockwell picture.
It has been a few years since my last visit to that place.
My children only want to play on their computers and watch TV.
They can’t imagine the magic and fun it is to enjoy nature and feel free.
