Listening to them is painful.

Mental infant on stage
a TV camera capturing all,
my nose bleeding due
to his spiel, my brain
lanced by stilettos
of holy shouts, of
hellish assertions.
Common as bread, still,
today unfiltered tripe
of guilt insulting
reality and reason.
Believe, have faith
kiss feet lest you burn.
Bombastic arrogance
rife from animate dance,
wriggling con-man,
Armani-suited charlatan.
It hurts to listen,
it hurts to watch
like looking through
yellow glass.
Sinus infection
expectorate.
Throw up your hands.
Ability to scare,
ability to dupe
and take one's money
and one's mind.
I watch to appreciate
logic and evidence,
yet not to laugh
because this con is
too painful.
By observing darkness
one appreciates light.
By observing evil
ones knows of virtue.
So I watch, then close
my eyes but I won't
need dimes.
