How I met someone who is helping me now
Full Counts
All Words: 253

It started with a post on Facebook.

A post, calling for blood-donors of any blood group, for someone suffering from a severe kidney disease.

I'm not allowed to donate blood myself, due to the medications I'm on, but I can pass information along on Facebook. And I did.

One of my friends pinged me. "I can donate blood, but I am a bit nervous. Will you come with me?"

Quickly, I arranged transport. I called my auto-riksha driver, told him we had to go pick up the friend and get to hospital. He came, we picked her up and headed to hospital. My friend donated blood. The auto-driver donated blood. We returned, and I pinged the person who was keeping count, that two more donors had given blood.

The lady who was unwell recovered. She started thanking those who had donated blood for her, or arranged for donors. We had never met, but we got chatting on Facebook and I really began to like her.

During one of our chats, she mentioned that she's a counselor and art-therapy practitioner.

I've been looking for someone to talk to -- about the emotional baggage I'm still carrying from childhood, and other issues. I asked if I could talk to her professionally.

At the time of writing, we've had four sessions together and it's doing me a lot of good. She helps me with art-therapy and talk-therapy. I'm feeling lighter in my head about some things that were weighing me down.

I'm so glad I found her.
