Keep dancing!
A Dance of Embers

When we were young we danced through fire
Spinning through the flames
With Devils irked and Seraphs ired
We danced our set the same

At some point we started caring
About the steps we took
Concerned, we stopped our sharing
Cooling feet off in the brook

Dancing cautious in the embers
With heat held under heel
Alone, we don't remember
The joy we used to feel

The verve felt as a slow step,
… built up to a trot
With foxes in our mind, kept
and nerve locked up in lots

Sold to the highest bidders
The auction as it stands
With buyers unconsidered
Where flames strong prior, fanned

Reckless through the mornings
At the breaking of our dawns
Ignoring strong storm warnings
Smelling petals midst the thorns

With pressure in our places
Crushing fear, taunts control
There's safety in such spaces,
… but time, it takes its toll

It can turn our coal to diamonds
or burn it back to dust
In the pressure of the highlands,
… or the low lands do we trust?

As dust to dust, we're sired
Holding ash the other side
Spinning, dancing through the fires
In kind hearts we should confide
