Trust issues
Don't trust anybody, You might not get to turn;
Before they stab you. "Where?" you ask;
Pick a spot, Back? Heart? Neck?
It doesn't matter, They don't care.
Not giving away trust anymore,
No you earn it first. Why?
It hurts too much, I can't take it!
Put up a wall, it's dark and lonely inside,
Welcome to my world, step on in I'll show you more.
Have you ever felt pain? A stab in your heart?
Or a shattering heart quite literally?
Have you been broken?
The kind of broken that's hard to come back from?
You ever feel hollow or darkness inside?
What about paralyzing fear?
You can't move, you can't call for help,
Every nerve in your body buzzing with electricity?
Or helpless even as a child?
No? Well, these are the reasons,
Wall stays up, yet maybe there's Hope for the future.
As a Survivor of the past, I can Survive the future.
