A New World

Jan awoke slowly, the dream still there. A city of towers and exotic palaces. Getting up she began her normal routine but was unable to shake the strange visions. Stirring her porridge, Jan focused on the day ahead, pushing away the deja vu haunting her. Then a flash of light passed the window. Jan rushed to peer through the grimy glass; a phoenix was disappearing into the distance. Was she going mad?
