Sonnet Entry For Bard's Hall Contest (14 Lines)
14 Lines, Sonnet
8 syllables per line

Written for "The Bard's Hall Contest

Prompt: "The lady doth protest too much, methinks." Hamlet

Wicked Harbor

Raw winds blow fickle Dublin coast
Lone flower struggles through the rain
Blind faith not one to brag or boast
Portends a lifetime steeped in pain

Lass sang love songs, later vows
Lured lad to cross the Irish Sea
Believed forever, then and now
Perish doubt, certain, wife to be

He should have known never give trust,
One who seems too good to be true
Diamonds soon enough turn to rust
Wicked harbor lurks, orbs so blue

Thy Roundstone vistas, life's hard truth,
Innocence lost, forever youth
