The joys of a young girl's wedding day
Joy, anxiety, anticipation
Very nearly wed
Running about in preparation
“Today’s the day,” they said.

My heart is full, it’s overflowing
It’s never felt so real
My love for him just keeps growing
Passion is all I feel.

Flowers in my hands and hair
Ready to walk the aisle
Ending single life with prayer
I see my husband smile.

“I do” is said, romantic kiss
And now it’s picture time
Smile like that, stand like this
Truly, I don’t mind.

We all grow tired, the night goes on
Our day is almost done
“It’s okay,” I think as I yawn,
“Our lives have just begun.”
