A need to say good bye for the closure I never got.
You and I were a daydream. Let's face it, it was a lovely dream we both shared for a while, but we knew deep down that it wouldn't last. Our realities are too entangled in our present and future to just slip away together that easily as we've joke-wished we'd do one day. We can still relive our time together in our dreams, as I have since our last encounter. But, please, as much as it pains me to even write to you with this, no more contact. I have to cut it off now in order to cause no more pain moving forward. And so should you. They don't deserve to be betrayed, only seeing part of us. I need to be authentic and refocus all of my energy, and it starts by losing you. You were a gift in my life and I'm grateful for our time, your love, and the joy that brought us. May you find more joy and love in your future. Know that I'll always love the you that I knew. Thank you and good bye.
