If you see a tornado, you won't forget it. Contest entry
Tornado
The raging atmosphere brought
awe and terror to animals and humans alike.
Inside the clouds, warm and cool air
mixed to provide witnesses
with nature’s only horrific struggle in town,
a tornado,
one that survivors would never forget.
People collided with each other
in a desperate race for the safest place.
The tornado’s internal force sucked roofs
off houses, schools, businesses and churches.
Frightened children cried and
prayed for the return of that peaceful sound
signalling the of the end of their nightmare.
And as they all stood up to look,
they saw a brand-new world.
Everything outside was destroyed.
But they still lived.
