A poem I wrote for a contest and forgot to submit.
Fragments of myself are found in the south.
The soft, sweet wind in the pines are my breaths,
And my eyes gleam like those of a cottonmouth.
My heart is that of the most loyal hound,
As for my home I would die many deaths
Once I heard the glorious trumpet sound.

My soul will rest for eternity here,
Where my pride and passion walk hand-in-hand.
Know that this land shall never disappear,
As it will remain forever in song
Of tall mountains and of a beach’s sand.
Thank you, Georgia, for you have made me strong.

Fragments of myself are found in the south.
My soul will rest for eternity here.
