When nightmares come true
As Adam opened his eyes, blinking to focus them, blood and sweat rolled down his forehead into them, making it difficult to see. He had no idea how many days he had been there, possibly four days, but with the torture, he was not sure.

They tied him to a metal chair, and he could feel the coldness underneath him. The smell of mold filled the air and dampness about him.

He now couldn't control the shaking of his body—a combination of the unknown and cold. Adam was a captain in the Army and had trained for torture. Now, he had to get his body under control before they came in for another round.

As the door swung open, his shoulders tightened up, raising his bloody face to look at the figures that were getting closer just as he overcame the shakes to face his attackers.

"WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?" yelled Adam out of frustration. He had no plans to let them know he was scared as one of the men stuck a gun to the back of Adam's head. Adam looked up his eyes widen, his heart racing, nearly exploding. Under his breath, he pleaded, "MOM, HELP ME!"

Sarah was watching as they tortured her son. She begged and pleaded for them to release him. But, no one was listening to her. She reached out to stop them; no one could see her. She circled Adam trying to find away. As she came back around, she saw the gun pointed at her son's head. She heard him pleaded, "MOM, HELP ME!"

Sarah was shaking and sweating uncontrollably, crying and screaming out loud. Kyle shook and yelled for Sarah to wake up. Sarah took a swing at who she thought was holding her down and attacking her child. Kyle dodges it, "STOP, Sarah!"

Sarah sits straight up, blinking her eyes, still shaking uncontrollably, she jumps out of bed. Her hands searched her body for injuries. Kyle looking at her, he asks, "Are you okay?"

"NO, have they found Adam?" her voice cracking.

"What did you dream, Sarah? Kyle pleading, shaking her, TELL ME!"

"HE'S DEAD," as tears streamed down her cheeks. "He's dead."
