Mysterious White Mist and A Hoarse Voice
Chapter 3: Mysterious White Mist and A Hoarse Voice

The look of despair flashed in the eyes of Zong Weng. After seeing the white mist slowly advancing towards him, he found himself at his wit's end. He can neither move nor call for help because the beast jungle was a quiet and eerie place, with not even a soul around.

The mist slowly started to envelop around his body. He thought to himself: "This is the end. Not even letting me enjoy the second life for a day. Damn, dead on both worlds. Can't even move this shitty body. If I ever come alive from this strange encounter, I promise those damn bastards a fight, a devil of a fight. You will all be dead in the next encounter with me. Shit!!"

No place to regret or repent or even think, Zong Weng sat cross legged as the mist ran through his body. He closed his eyes as if try to muster up the remaining courage the remained within his body. Looking just a monk in deep meditation, he sat there as he slowly waited for his death.

Strangely enough he did not even feel the imagined pain that he should experience. Maybe he was imagining that he was already dead but he was thoroughly. As time passed and the mist grew denser, he found a smoothing sensation running through his body or rather it was replacing the pain that he had endured for the long time.

Slowly opening his eyes, when he looked around he only found dense white mist. If one looked at the scene from the sky, it appeared as pure white milk covering the jungle area. Looking at his body, he was momentarily surprised and startled. What the hell!! His wounds were healing miraculously on its own. The white mist slowly infused with his body. As such he did not try to put up any resistance to it and allowed it to do whatever he wanted to his body.

He thought to himself: "Might as well try it. I am already half dead. What worse can this mist do to me? Looks like it has some sort of healing properties. Is it the Life Realm energy??"

However to his lack of experience as being a newcomer in this Realm, it was not the Life Realm energy but something totally new and mysterious. Zong Weng did not struggle at all. Rather he did not have any strength to struggle due to fatigue. Slowly his consciousness started to drift away, as if he did care anymore about what happened to his body.

Closing his eyes, he felt darkness envelop his mind. It was more vicious than death. He felt as if the space in front him has wrapped itself in a strange dimension. Not even showing any restraints to the normal Realm or his common knowledge, his mind started to feel intense pressure as if this mind could implode any moment. However he clearly felt that the white mist would not let such a thing to happen to him.

Suddenly, a hoarse voice started to resound his ears. The voice spoke: "You who have been chosen by the Great Void Attribute must take this trial to your heart as if your life depended on it. If you succeed the Void Attribute would be your slave. Else you will lose your life here."

Zong Weng thought to himself: "The Void Attribute?? The Void Attribute!! The Void Attribute!!" as if he couldn't collect his thoughts and felt his mind going blank, as if he couldn't believe his own luck. But also, this was this half luck as of yet. It would be a full one if he could pass this trial.

The trial has started long ago even without his realization. The surrounding atmosphere grew strange and dark would be the perfect word to describe it. He could feel all the attributes that were present in the twelve Realms to present in there. And strangely enough, they seem to be fusing together to form a new type of Realm. Something out of his own explanations. Zong Weng started to feel the profound secrets of this mysterious Realms world.

He slowly started to feel whatever he could in this mind Realm of his. He started feeling as if he was becoming one with all the attributes. Strangely, the attributes were not even showing signs of resisting him but allowing him to enter as if he was the new master. All the attributes- Life, Death, Sword, Evil, Time, Saint, Demonic, Heaven, Hell, Light and Darkness; were mixing together and fusing with him as the center. The only thing that he had to do was endure the slight pain that coursed through his body and it will be over. Time seemed to stop to him, how much time passed wad unknown to him.

He slowly bathed in all the attributes. Suddenly the space in front of him began to wrap and change as a new dimension appeared in front of him. All that surrounded him was space, completely lifeless, lightless and even darkness attribute might seem weak and pale in comparison to its depth of black colour. He started to walk in the space, void of all beings and things; even he could feel his emotions fade away.

Time seemed to freeze at this moment. He felt that there was no such existence of time in this Realm. Suddenly a deep profound enlightenment struck him. He realized that space was absolute in this world; nothing can be as peerless and strange as the space. He was overwhelmed by fatigue but he couldn't let such emotions run through him as this was a trial and he must succeed in order to ensure his survival in this mysterious Realm.

Slowly white mist began to gather in front of him. The mist began to change as if trying to take the shape of a crossed legged person seated on the air. Zong Weng halted his steps upon seeing such a sight. Surprise struck him hard. Just what kind of cultivation level has that person reached in order to do such things?

The seated person in front of him seemed to sense what he was thinking as he slowly smiled. The person questioned him: "Do you want to become strong?"
Zong Weng seemed to hesitate while answering such a question. As if the mysterious person sensed the hesitation, he said, "Don't worry. I am not going to kill you neither is this Void Attribute. Answer my questions from your heart."

Zong Weng then replied, "I want to be peerless in all Realms, the strongest cultivator alive on this Realm. I want to be the best of the best."

Hearing such words, the mysterious person was not surprised and asked, "Why?"

"Why? Because I fear death and I want to be immortal no matter the cost."

Now hearing such words, the mysterious person was surprised. He asked, "Don't you want to take revenge on those that did this to you, leaving you half dead?"

Without hesitation, Zong Weng replied, "Of course it is a must. But if you want to ask about my goals, then my answer is simple, to be the ruler of all Realms."

The mysterious person was quite surprised and satisfied. He then said, "You are the first person to reply in such a way saying that you are afraid of death and want to strive for immortality. I have so many these questions but no one's answer was able to satisfy me. Yet not only does your answer satisfy me but also surprise me. I do pray for your heaven defying goal. Now do you wish to inherit my inheritance?"

Zong Weng was quite happy. Finally he couldn't control himself and nodded vigorously. Then a flash of light seemed to enter his mind. This was the start for his cultivation path.
