Written for July Monthly Poetry Contest
Inhale the scent of the rain,
it is silent
like rosebuds opening
in early spring.

Its aroma
tantalizes the senses,
invites you to dance
merrily
through forest and meadow.

Its perfume
recalls half-buried memories
of childhood fantasies:
pixies frolicking
through gardens of white moonflowers.
