In the middle of my sadness, words of hope flow from my pen.
weeping willow,
why do you weep?
do your branches bow down,
with the weight of defeat?
weeping willow,
bent down to the ground,
did the hurricane winds,
knock you all around?
have your hopes and your dreams,
all dried up in the sun?
are your leaves heavy with words,
of a song left unsung?
tell me weeping willow,
why do you cry?
are you hurting and lonely?
have your goals withered and died?
have you given in willow?
have you lost all your fight?
Oh lovely weeping willow,
please tell me your plight,
do you not realize sweet willow,
you are beautiful and strong,
your roots have remained planted,
through every hurricane and storm,
every single situation,
that has beaten you down,
has been unable dear willow,
to your inner flame put out,
weeping willow,
in your presence I delight,
the fact that you are standing,
gives me hope I'll be alright,
so today weeping willow,
I will rest in your shade,
and I will find solace and peace,
in your weeping embrace.
