The battle between good and evil prevalent in this world
The End of Darkness

At the edge of time a blackness oozed into existence. As ink from a bottle spilled on tattered paper it stained the world, a miasma speading tendrils of fear choking mankind into submission.

Conscious thought became darkened with jealousy, cruel intentions and deviant murmurings. Hearts turned cold and desolate, void of feeling, bringing on a wave of destruction to peel off the skin of love layer by layer, leaving only the scars of hate, deception, and greed to flourish... seeping into the pores and tainting the blood of men like an ingested poison.

Depression, desperation and hopelessness consumed the world ravaging it as a pack of wolves descends on its prey. As torment and utter despair engulfed the world, a voice cried out small as a whisper lost in the winds of a hurricane.

In desperation it asked, "Is this our destiny? If so may I perish from time itself, leaving behind the callous hands of this brutal life?"

A glimmer appeared on the horizon of this darkened world... a tiny flicker as if light bouncing off of stardust . A sound was heard from beyond time like waves breaking gently on the shore, a presence felt as the brush of silken butterfly wings against skin.

I am a spark of light in the darkness, a glowing ember of hope that burns endlessly to push back what once caused the minds of men to be blind, their hearts to be dulled, and their souls to be cursed.

I have felt the pain and anguish of this world, seen the cavernous hole left by the darkness and experienced the treachery of temptation that becomes every man.

The deepest darkest pit of despair may turn the head of the world, but it cannot extinguish the light it holds within. The darkness fears the passage of time for it had a beginning to its evil intentions and knows the time draws near when the downfall of all the havoc it has bestowed on this world will come to an end.

The light had no beginning or end, only an insatiable desire to bring its own back to its heart. I have felt the drenching tears of your soul and others. As the river of your weeping grows in size and force creating rapids that pierce my heart I long to bring into creation the work I started before the black grip of death took hold of this cowardly world.

I shall bathe you in the light of my presence and heal the wounds the darkness has perpetuated on those I so dearly love."

As the darkness cowered in the shadows it understood the intentions of the light. In a last desperate attempt it drew a veil of contempt over the eyes of those who witnessed the light.

Yet, the sands in the hourglass of time silently dropped its last grains. And the light not being held by the constraints of time flooded the world with love, filling every shadowed corner where the darkness hid.

The darkness recognizing its defeat fled back to the pit of torment and loathing from which it was birthed as the searing light poured out, sealing the darkness away for eternity.

And the light called out to the world battered and bruised, deceived and led astray, I invite you to bathe in the beauty of my love, to have peace and comfort for your very souls. All I ask is that you invite me in so we may become one.

Some hid in the recesses of their own guilt clinging to what little darkness remained. Yet, for those that embraced the light, allowing it to heal what damage had been done to their crushed spirits, a balm of unconditional love soothed their pain, dried their tears and they gained the freedom of everlasting life outside the bondages of time.
