TAP TAP TAP
By, Angela Adame

Rachel a typical teenager she enjoys to have fun with her two best friends Sandy and Lisa. The three always find themselves in a predicament but find ways to always get out of them except for this one time.
Night fell as her parents are ready to leave, her mother spoke to the girls of house rules to follow. Yes mom we know what to do. Fine, just don't burn the house down.

Her parents walked out Rachel smelling her mom's perfume of rose flowers as she waved bye closed and locked the door. It only took a few seconds to do what teenage girls do at a night over and that is blasting music, eating junk food, and dancing around acting foolish.
Rachel stops dead in her tracks to hear a tapping noise, her thoughts were of uptight neighbors. Almost stumbling to reach the stereo to turn the volume down, a moment of silence came over all three. Rachel do you mind telling us why you turned the music down your messing up our groove.

Lisa, Sandy laughing. Shh listen Sandy I hear tapping, maybe someone is at the front door, that's what I thought. Sandy tip toed to the front door the two followed behind. Sandy opened the front door a burst of leaves came rushing in the three screamed leaves scattered everywhere. Oh my! Rachel it's just the wind.

Closing and locking the door they all returned to the living room getting there groove on.
Rachel could not shake of the tapping noise that is just her way when she experiences odd occurrences. The phone rang she struggled to get the phone shushing the girls at the same time.

Turn down the music, Hello, looking at her friends trying to be all innocent.
Hi, mom. Yes were all fine here and no the house is not in flames laughing, OK, love you to mom, the phone fumbling through her fingers as she tries to hang the phone up. Really Rachel you need a chill pill she walked toward Sandy yes your right my imagination is just running wild again. Turning on the music now that's the cool Rachel we love. The three got back to dancing and having fun. Rachel excused herself to the kitchen for a drink she heard the tapping several more times gazing out the window only to see the shadows of the trees dancing from the wind.

Closing her ears to wash out the tapping noise, am I honestly going crazy? Rachel are you ok Lisa yells out, yes I'm fine ok grab me more chocolate pretzels will ya? Yea OK. We need to change this CD put another in said Sandy.
Lisa searching in her bag for a good rock CD. All of a sudden in the silence of the room all three hear a faint tap. Sandy motionless expression looking at Rachel, and Lisa. Rachel glanced out the front window and back at the girls. A moment of relief came over her. You see I wasn't hearing things. They hear the tapping it is coming from outside.

No it is in here, Rachel yells out calm down you two. I'll get flashlights to look outside. Not me Lisa panicky said, fine stay in here. Rachel grabbed two flashlights handing Sandy one. Both cling to each other heading for the front door. Sandy reached the knob and unlocked it and both walk out as more leaves rushed in.

Rachel whispered lets go that way first them towards the back OK, the wind blowing softly with a pine scent following. Rachel I don't hear it do you? No, let's go over there now. Their worried expressions the light bouncing off the rocks from their flashlights manifesting strange figures.
Rachel feeling her body quiver, all of a sudden they hear leaves rustling, what's that? I don't know. They slowly turned around coming face to face with Lisa. The three screamed what are you doing out here? I got scared the tapping is getting louder in the house.
Rachel let's get back to the house and see if we hear it as well yeah, OK. Clinging all together they walked back to the house. Turning off the flashlights they entered the house and closed and locked the door. They huddled into the living room to their amazement they hear the tapping again, fed up OK, you two I'm going outside to the front window.

No, are you crazy Lisa said. Its OK, it's not like I'm going into the deep woods. She grabbed her flashlight once more and headed to the front door unlocking it and opening it slowly. The two girls watched her walk outside as more leaves flew in landing all over the floor.
She tip toed closer to the window seeing a frighten Rachel looking in, they gazed at each other they turned around to see nothing and back at Rachel. Rachel trembling looking at many people and tapping to get noticed and get freed and shimmering in and out.
Just then Rachel faded into the darkness the two girls couldn't believe what they just witness before their eyes. Was it a feverish dream or was it real?

Scrambling opening the door it fiercely swung open running outside frantic screaming for Rachel. Lisa yelling, Sandy turn frozen in fear looking at the glass window, Lisa running to Sandy lifeless stair looking at the front window only to see Rachel tapping, fading in and out yelling to get out. The End!
