A Fleeting Glimpse

Her soft eyes had me fixed,
filled with emotions mixed,

Into that deep sea of brown,
I let myself jump and began to drown,

As she held me in steady gaze,
her black hair contrasting her pale face,

So naturally beautiful,
that of it I never could seem to get plentiful,

Her pink lips stood slightly apart,
beseeching forth my torn heart,

Her flawless figure stood from me,
calling forward, but no, it was never to be,

From her chest spread a dark stain,
shooting all over me utmost pain,

As in my trembling fingers I held, barrel smoking,
the butt of a gun, that stood aiming,

At my love, we, never to be united in life,
victims of engulfing strife,

The moment passed, and she slowly fell,
I closed my eyes and let emotions swell,

As for one last time, my fleeting glimpse burned in the dark,
I turned the barrel and with the twitch of the finger, left for Eden's park.
