Hourglass

Oriole is withdrawn. People think he's just shy but his only friends are the birds and the beasts. He decides to end it all but fails. "She" intervenes sending him on a vacation... or so he thinks. Each day his story continues where it left off... but in a different city. After a month he returns home a different person.

1. "She" is the unnamed protagonist while Oriole is the main character... getting in his own way.
2. Oriole, like the bird, like the baseball team. In many ways a "loser", depressed, withdrawn, who will overcome in the end.
3. There will be thirty chapters that propel the story forward. I intend these to be short. A novelette in total.
4. While Oriole is going forward with his own "story" the setting will change. Like playing out your life on stage in front of a friend's slide-show of all their vacation trips. Theme could repeat in different settings... but perhaps sub-themes to keep it from becoming boring. Setting can be defined by food, weather, culture.
5. Goal is 30,000 words. Travels may affect the progress and which day it'll be ready.
