A poem of the death of a relationship
I think you only want me
When I'm not there for you
Missing what was always there
But not till we were through.

I gave you the moon and stars
Each moment of my day
Yet I felt that it was not
Enough to make you stay.

Your mind was an enigma
Your heart a secret too
Puzzles I could never solve
Without a single clue.

I saw your naked body but
You never bared your soul.
And watched as I poured out
My heart into an empty hole.

I gave what was never mine,
A gift you didn't need
Winter is not the time for planting
Cupid's fragile seed

You will not find what has been lost
I mourn each passing day
At the grave of what we had
The dream that went astray
