The day after Christmas is such a mess. Cleaning up is a chore. Here's what could happen.
T’ws the day after Christmas
Went all through the House
Not a place was clean
In the entire house
I looked all around to see where to start
Then rushed into the kitchen and grabbed the mop
When what to my wondering eye should appear
But a note from grandchildren so close and so dear
Grandmom take a seat we got this you hear
They all took a room and the cleaning begun
I could not contain myself watching them fly by
No one was angry, and none were chewing gum
Fortnight took a rest from its all-night run
As everyone pitched in including my great-grandson
In no time at all the house was all clear
Of wrapping paper and boxes and toys just to name some
Trash cans were empty, and floors were swept
I had to grab my heart to slow down the beating in my chest
Those same grandchildren that made such an awful mess
Cleaned up my house so quickly I had to confess
Christmas this year was indeed one of the best!
