The hardest poem I've ever written, The loss of my best friend/equine.
So many years
We have had
Knowing you're gone
Makes me sad

But as I stand
And say your name
I know that you
Feel no pain

Though your loss
Causes me grief
It helps to know
You have relief

All my memories
Both bad and good
Fill my mind
Like I knew they would

My partner, my pet
My beloved friend
I will see you again
When I get to the end
