..........
It was getting late. The light outside was fading, inside the voices growing silent. She sat there motionless. Unaware of how long she had been in this state, a voice interrupted her trance. Vague and uncommitted, it departed without her really acknowledging its presence. Her eyes looked through the window, past the reflections, into the dark abyss that awaited her beyond the glass. She knew it was time to leave, but something prevented her from moving. Then the voice returned, softly spoken, but almost threatening. A chill passed through her spine. She shivered, and drew the black fur closer to her shoulders.

Once outside, she released her hands from the fur, and a shiver once again crept over her body. This time it brought excitement. The cold air stung her cheeks, and her eyes sparkled. She felt quite light headed. Before she had a chance to acknowledge what was happening, bright demonic eyes flashed before her gaze. She drew back, and then, feeling slightly embarrassed, realised the terror she had felt had only been from the glow of headlights. She watched as the vehicle passed her. Inside a face, familiar to her but more menacing in this light, gave a lurid smile in her direction, and she returned the gesture accordingly. Then, in a rather child-like manner, she clutched at her skirt and walked on into the dark night.
