Sometimes boys can feel lonely - they just want to be included.
Lonely Little Boy

A little boy on the playground all alone
Just wishing he had a friend to call his own.

All the other kids, they run and race
Can’t they see the tears running down his face?

He may not have money or fine clothes like all of them
But he could be a good friend if they would just let him.

All he wants to do is run and play their games
But they just laugh at him and call him names.

Don’t they even wonder or do they even care
When he just looks at them with a lonely stare?

They all seem so happy and so carefree
But all he can do is stand and wonder,
“Why won’t they play with me?”

He never had a close friend or so it seems
The only time he’s happy is pretend or in his dreams.

And he lifts his tear-stained eyes to heaven as if to say,
“Lord, will you please be my friend today?”
