Morning Short.

" I couldn't see it! Whatever the hell it was. Never in all my years of service have I been so afraid. Something about being alone in there. I felt exposed and my senses were going crazy! When I tried to peer through the darkness of the room I realized just how pointless my efforts were. I was blind and my panicked breaths were the only sounds I recognized. The other sound, something moving around the room much quicker than me kept my trigger finger ready. When I felt that gust of wind on my backside I nearly lost it. I immediately turned and squeezed off a round. The flash illuminated the room for only a second showing me something I couldn't explain. It was small with a smokey colored body. It resembled a lizard but it was hunched down like a cat ready to pounce. The light from from the gun blast made it's eyes glow briefly. I was scared shitless and began to fire at it repeatedly. Before I knew it I didn't see it anymore. So I kept firing in all directions. I just wanted to see the damn thing y'know! I knew spending these bullets would only make this situation worse but I couldn't think straight. I just wanted out. When I heard the click. I knew it was over. But before the dread was able to set in the door behind me burst open. I heard officer Johnson's voice as the beams from their flashlights entered the room. She had Patelli with her. I dropped to my knees allowing my empty pistol to fall to the floor. " There he is!" I heard Johnson yell. When they ran up to me I couldn't tell you what they said to me. I just looked up and forced out what words I could. " Get me outta here". Next thing I knew we were on our way back to the station".

Captain Moss: " Regina! To your knowledge is this accurate?"

Officer Regina Johnson: " Yes sir! When Don and I arrived the building had no power. Only the emergency lights in the hallway were on. Once we heard the gunshots we knew Lt. Blane was still in there. So we followed the sound to an office area. The door to the room he was in had this gooey substance on the hinges. We had to kick it in. Once we found the Lieutenant he fell to his knees. I thought he was hurt but no one else was in the room. At least not once we got there".

Captain Moss: "What about you Don?"

Officer Don Patelli: "That's correct sir. All of it. Just as Regina said. The Lieutenant must've been in a bad way. He looked as white as a ghost".

Captain Moss: "I suppose that would be an accurate assessment considering his story. Well, I don't know what to tell you guys except that I don't believe in stuff like this. Hell, I wouldn't believe this if all three of you hadn't just told me. The Captain sat back in his chair and looked at the three officers with reluctance. He then called his secretary from the intercom on his desk. "Ok, send him in". After a moment a man knocked on the Captains door. "Come on in!" Moss said. The guy walking in was very average built but in good shape. His grey suit complimented his graying hair and freshly trimmed beard. The guy was definitely an agent of some sort.

Captain Moss: "This is special agent Rick Kavanaugh from the Federal Bureau of Investigations. Let's just say he has to speak with you regarding this matter. Special Agent. There all yours".

Agent Kavanaugh: " Lt. Blane. I understand you may have had quite the evening. Forgive me, but speaking with Captain Moss about an unfortunate event that happened at a testing lab nearby. It's come to my understanding that these situations may be related.

Officer Johnson: " Come to think of it. Wasn't there some sort of emergency recently. Something about lab personnel getting sick causing a facility to be shut down for a few days?"

Agent Kavanaugh: " Well done Officer, Johnson was it? Yes, except the personnel did not get sick and the facility did not stay shut down. About 6 miles east of here "Loland Labs" had to shut down their facility for 48 hours. Before which 3 of their technicians were poisoned. They died within a matter of hours. Afterwards, it was learned that the facility misplaced something very dangerous, according to a staff report. Something they made. Apparently, animal testing hasn't gone out of style and something they had there got out. Or perhaps released. Now, I don't know if this was some sort of setup in order to bring down the facility or if somebody's guilty conscious got the best of them. All I can say is. Whatever's out needs to be found and I'm going to need some help."

Officer Patelli: " Wait a minute! Are you serious? Do you really work for the FBI?"

Agent Kavanaugh: " Yes and no! I'm with a special branch within the organization."

Captain Moss: " Listen! I understand this all sounds strange but believe it. Agent Kavanaugh has briefed me on some of his findings. This stuff is real. It's hard to be a skeptic when video's are involved. I'll understand if you want no part of this."

Lt. Blane: " I'm in! I don't know why but. That thing creeped me out. I'd never sleep if it were to hurt someone."

Officer Johnson: " Ok Lieutenant. I believe you. I'll help too"

Officer Patelli: " Why not! I got nothing better to do. No offense Captain!"

Captain Moss: " Real funny Patelli!"

Agent Kavanaugh: " That is great news! I'll get to work on some official high level clearance tonight. Your all gonna it. Also, I'll get you all fully briefed at 0700. We have a lot of work to do. Until then, welcome aboard! You are now delegates to the organization "Greyline".
