A misinterpretation causes problems
“Uhhh...hi. What?”

“Can I come in?”

“Uhhh, Okay...what are you doing here? I thought you never wanted to see me again.”

“I’m sorry, I got very angry when you told me you took Sylvia to dinner and said things I shouldn’t have. Can we talk?”

“Okay...but you pretty much ended it.”

“I did...but I was wrong.”

“Boy, were you! I told you I had to see her, we own a house together and she’s forcing a quick sale that’ll lose me a lot. She lets her anger make her stupid.”

“I’m sorry, Steve, after what she accused me of I hate her.”

“I’m not very fond of her either, but I have to handle this and dealing with her is required. She is basically a nasty bitc...person. That’s why I left her. She turned everything into a major problem.”

“I know, but it’s hard to deal with. I don’t want us to break up, I’ve thought about it a lot and decided I need to be with you. Please, can we try?”

“So I’m not the low-life, disgusting SOB...”

“God, I did say that, I’m sorry. No, you’re not. You are the best man I’ve ever known, Ian. I miss you.”

“I miss you too, Gail. I can’t get anything done. All I do is mope around here wondering, what’s next? The only thing that keeps popping up is you.”

“Is that a yes?”

“Yeah, it is. But I warn you, it’s going to take at least 2 more meets with her to finish this. My lawyers putting together a deal to buy her out at her price. It’s worth twice what she’s asking.”

“I have an overnight bag in my car.”

“Did you bring that night gown I...”

“Of course.”

“Love you, Gail.”
