A man is stuck with a lady in the bar and doesn't know how to get away
She was pretty much in a conversational mood
Spoke till my ears were sore and numb
Spewed garlic breath all over me
Killed what interest I might have had
I didn't say, but she must have known
Said, raw garlic was good for the heart
Probably repeats this to everyone
She hadn't researched
Just heard it
From the mouth of a friend

It wasn't by design we had met
Said it must surely be Providence
It wasn't in her culture
It just wasn't done
To approach a man
A complete stranger and talk to him

It must have been my skill,
My complete proficiency
My twists, my steps
My dance-floor moves

I dozed, I nodded
She turned her back, for just a sec
Into the crowd I disappeared.
