short love poem

The mind alone, yields honest thoughts

A day is past, a days to come

And in this silent, soothing night

I think of what I need



Dashing thoughts, fleeting but rosy

Part way for those of greater ambition

A life laid bare behind my weary eyes

The whole of it spent with you



Lying in darkness, the mind lulls

Disjointed thoughts blend in time

Sinking ever deep into twilight slumber

I hope to dream of you
