A piece that's been bouncing round for a while now
Reverb

Calling round the canyons
Whispering your name
Crawling through these tunnels,
where my echoes hold no shame

In the silence of such channels,
in the darkness of said shafts
Anonymity in panels,
faceless burrows where the drafts

Turn around in hollows
Churn round in the black
Whimpers turn to bellows,
in the tunnels blowing back

Back to where I entered,
a sorry, sordid start,
with other's light resented,
… cast shadows play their part

In chambers of the caverns,
such statues, frozen, stand
Where scant light glances, gathers,
sifting silent, through in strands

Settling on sculptures,
frozen in the light
Motes of dust in raptures,
as the flesh, it tries to fight

Tries to break the fear,
the fear such warmth holds
Anxious under earnest lamps,
petrified... stunned, cold

Carried through lost channels,
stored memories outside
Hoarded in our annuls
lost echoes call... reside

Crawling through these tunnels,
such echoes hold no shame
Through canyons, bounced and funnelled
… whispering your name
