A poem I wrote in '05. It's silly & heartbreaking, but sweet. My mom still lives just FYI.
If I could tell you one thing
It's that I've learned a lot
For an 18 year old girl
I know much you do not

I've lost so much to time
Some I've loved, others not
There's some I'll always remember
The others I forgot

I've betrayed and was betrayed
What goes comes back around
But now it's all over
Just look what I have found

Never underestimate
What you cannot see
Appreciate each moment
And be all you can be

I've been separated from my sister
And I do not see my mom
But I know that she is proud
Of what I have become

She's stuck with me through everything
The good times and the bad
The times I've cried, she's cried
She was sad when I was sad

She knows me better than me
She knows me inside out
And when my face was hanging
She'd know what it was about

And look at us now
Look at what it has come to
I still see her sometimes
But not as much as I want to

I love you so much
For the love and all that stuff
But even though I tell you
I don't think I show enough

Every time I think of all the things
The things that I've got
It doesn't change a thing
'cause I still miss you a lot
