What's in laughter and voices that make us want to smile and listen? What's in silence?
Nothing was more devastating than the silence...
...
...
...
You used to say that laughter belonged with me, that my sullen face and depressing attitude didn't fit me.
I wonder who you saw behind these caramel eyes and dark eye bags that made you think that...
...
...
...
I've always thought that you were meant to be on stage, speaking whatever you wanted to speak.
You argued that those moments meant nothing if there wasn't at least one person listening...
...
In the end, laughter and voices became just too much. You taught me that they were meant to be for the moments when we feel awake and alive.
Silence, I learned, was meant to be for heartbreak and devastation.
...
It seemed fitting.
