I was born to sail the seas
Oh, I have sailed the seven seas
for forty years and more.
I’ve traveled all around the world,
walked every foreign shore.

I've skippered every craft there is
from skiff to ketch to yacht.
And I can use the boson’s pipe,
tie every kind of knot.

Yes, I was born to sail the seas;
it is my love to roam.
Just put me on a sailing ship.
The ocean is my home.

I crave the rocking ‘neath my feet
and breathing salty air.
I’ll weather any kind of storm
without a single care

I use the stars to navigate
so I can sail at night.
But sometimes I still get confused
… is starboard left or right?
