thank you all for the positive reviews for my last short story and I hope you enjoy this.
A shadowy figure was wandring the empty english village at late night in 1419. he was hiding his red eyes and long sharp fangs behind a mask and his white long hair and the rest of his body in a dark cloak. But that wasn't enough to hide his desire to eat, he saw a wolf entering the village,an easy prey for him. he attacked it and sucked all its blood, then put the mask back on like nothing happened.
"OH MY GOD!! THE Demon is back!" a woman screamed suddenly and in a blink of an eye all the villagers came out of their little houses ready with torches and pitchforks. The masked figure had no choice but to run away after feeling a lot of "hospitality". He started to run away as fast as he could, losing his mask in the way, until he found himself cornered.
"there's no way to escape" said one of the villagers,"give up and we promise you a painless death"
"I am afraid I have to declain this lovely invitation" he said, his bat wings appeared and he hovered over the heads of the scared humans and before he knew it: an arrow hit his left wing!
He tried to get away with all his powers but he lost control because of the injured wing and hit a tree and fell near the lake. The vampire was so thirsty and wanted to drink from the lake but he saw a young woman sitting there alone staring at the reflection of the moon on the calm waters of the lake.
"hello good sir, said the lady, you want to join me ?"
" yes why not? But what are doing here all alone here in the dark? Where are your family and friends?"
" I am orphan sir, the girl answered with tears in her eyes, I have no friends. I am living all alone in the village"
The vampire felt sorry for the lady and sat beside her "here! A flower for you and my request to be your friend"
"really? Thank you mr vampire! You're not as devilish as the people say" the young women said and hugged her new best fiend.
"yes people say a lot of things around here "
"But why are they looking for you?" she asked curiously
" I am a monster, a freak.just look at me, my bloody fangs tell a very horrible act that I have done"
"well you don't seem like a freak, you're a sweet person and I am very happy that I knew you" her hand slowly approaching his.
But this happy moment didn't last long as villagers are still on the hunt for the "Beast", and approaching the lake
"oh no! I have to go my dear lady, it was a pleasure meeting you" said the vampire while standing up and running towards the woods. The villagers reached the lake and found the girl.
"did you see a fella with a long white hair around here?" asked one the villagers
"No I didn't and I don't know what are talking about" the lady answered
"don't lie to us , we followed the trail of blood and lead us right here, now where is he?"
"I told you I don't know, but why are you hunting him down?"
"he's a menace, a freak that should die"
"just because he looks different,You people think that he's a monster?" and before she could add anything else, a huge roar was heared inside the lake: a huge hungry crocodile imerged from the depths of the lake, coming to feast. It grabbed the poor girl's arm and tried to drag her into the lake. But our little monster came back to rescue his new friend: he charged into the lake killing the real monster here and got out with girl. The villagers were stunned by what they just witnessed.
"thank you my hero" she said and kissed him passionly ignoring the sharp fangs that injured her lips.
"maybe we were wrong about you, please forgive us for miss judging you"
The vampire nodded and gave them a smile that proves how much his pure heart is: forgiving the people who tried to kill him for years was really heart warming.

600 years later:
a shadowy figure flies in the dark skies of London, passing by the huge tall builings, and by a very old librairy owned by his great grand daughter. She was reading a book on the balcony when she noticed that giant looking bat figure flying faster than the wind. She smiled and continued reading her book.
After that tour,He stood on top of a gargoyle, resting his tired wings, the wind blowing his long hair and dark cloak as he looks down at the foggy city: he's its protecter now and its past, present and future. Truly one kind act can change a lot.
