Political Piece submitted in a contest
Consider Me

When you rush my sons and daughters off to War
Knowing they have been deployed three-times before,
Consider Me!
When my property taxes increase but the economy is down
And the wages I am paid are barely enough to keep me
From being homeless or sound-
Consider Me!
When you don't tap the Oil reserves, and gas prices are high.
When you build walls and create ceilings that reach to the sky.
When politically correct laws are regime, but talk of morality
In laws concerning marriage and life, is unconstitutional, it seems-
Consider Me!

Consider well,
How many Americans are at your door!
Consider well,
What you will pass when the Bill is on the floor...
Consider well-
Not the votes for re-election-but what is truly right,
You consider well-
How many people will lose sleep at night over
A political system that has far too many flaws?

I would give anything for a President,
Who would actually take a minute or three-
To Pause and Reflect on the Effects of
Every decision that he makes and

How many Americans share my same plea?
Congress, House of Reps, Mr. President-
Please
Consider Me!
