Challenging Inferiority
I'm doubted,
I'm debated,
People look at me and see
Disappointment, Frustration, Anxiety-

O depravity! You think you
Are nobody-when God says
"You are somebody."

I don't know who I am
Or who I want to be-
I feel like I'm dead last,
Forgotten, alone, a thing of my past-
Will the world ever know
What I am afraid to let show?

Or do you want to show
The haters and God that
You are somebody.

Yes, you are somebody,
Yes, you are that body
That needs a strong head-
Listen to God instead of
Listening to yourself,

I say, "I can't"

Tell yourself that "You can"

Are my dreams really that important?

Enough to stand next to,
The Great Halls of Fame!

But they talk and say, "What a shame!
To be married to a poor man like that,
What a waste of a last name"

Let them under-estimate,
Let them over-decimate,
But never let anyone
Get under your skin.
Stay in the game to win!
Don't let your fear
Tell you, "You're Nobody."

Hold your head high!
You are somebody-
Keep this in your heart
And you will never be
Overlooked by anybody.
